Job Opportunity 

Luke Lawyers, Co. has an opportunity for a full time Paralegal/Office Manager in Marysville, Ohio supporting two Family Law Attorneys and one part time paralegal. This flexible position is responsible for front desk operations and a variety of legal-specific administrative tasks. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with the right administrative background to gain on-the-Job training in the legal field. In our small firm, relationships come first. We take care of our clients, each other, and our families. This is a fast-paced litigation firm, so some experience in family law may help.

  • Communicate frequently with clients; Clients seek our professional services related to the most traumatic events in their lives, so compassion and empathy are critical.

  • Administer and maintain the electronic and paper document filing system.

  • Draft legal documents.

  • Finalize and proofread drafts.

  • Prepare notices, schedule depositions, and serve subpoenas.

  • Secure medical records from various treating healthcare providers.

  • Assist with fact investigation.

  • Command verbal and written communication skills.

  • Display proficiency in all Microsoft Office-based computer programs, (Google Drive, Adobe, Dropbox, Outlook, Excel, and learning ProLaw)

  • Take the initiative and remain self-motivated.

  • Ability to make timely decisions during emergencies, difficulties, and challenges.

  • Focus on meeting demanding deadlines.

  • Process meticulous attention to accuracy, detail, and organization.

  • Maintain professionalism in stressful and challenging situations.

  • Maintain confidentiality.

  • Multi-task and function positively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Adhere to law office procedures.

  • Electronically file documents in all electronic and physical platforms for all courts.

  • Preparing and responding to discovery.

  • Maintain attorney calendars and deadline list.

  • General administrative duties, such as filing, scanning, copying, faxing, keeping client file updated, ect.

  • Interact with court personnel, attorneys and related parties via telephone and e-mail in an efficient friendly manner.

  • Process new client intakes.

  • Create and maintain clients’ paper binders and electronic files.

  • Direct law clerks and interns in their filing and administrative tasks.

  • Assist in paying office invoices and motivating clients to attend to their balance.
